Im lost (career wise)

I don't know what to do with my life - career wise. Im stuck in a job which i hate.
I would love to work with animals and last summer i tried looking for work in a few kennels to get started. Heard nothing back from them. I would love to work as a veterinary assistant and hopefully doing vet nursing in the future. Left my cv into a few places 2 weeks ago and i heard nothing back from them yet. I suppose its early days yet, after 2 weeks. But if i dont get work with animals- want to work with small animals (cats and dogs), i dont know where to go from there.
There's a new vet clinic opening soon, so they will definately be looking for staff, iv got my eyes open for their job advertisements. I dont know should i lie a bit on my cv to get something.
I dont think il be happy doing anything else, so i dont know where to look. I dont want to be stuck in a shop, or an office or something boring. I would rather be kept on my feet all day than be sitting at a desk. I dont want factory work cause 3 months into the job i would probably be laid off. I quite like cars but i dont want to be driving them. Iv tried hotel work and have a hotel management diploma but i dont want to go down that route at all.

Im so lost regarding careers, its so depressing. I dont want to be stuck in a job i hate for the rest of my life.

don't lie on your cv. veterinary practices didn't take you because there are plenty of qualified people to take the job over someone with no relevant qualifications. i know of two vetarinary nursing courses in ireland,

    athlone IT:
    http://www.ait.ie/courses/science/ndscivetnurs.shtml

    ucd:
    http://www.ucd.ie/vetnursing/

apparently the ucd one is a lot more hands on than the athlone one, with most of the year spent on placement but possibly to the detriment of academic subjects. but i don't have personal experience of either so don't take my word for it

Thank u, but i know about those courses already. The only 2 in the country. I want to do the course in ucd. Before u apply, ur meant to have some experience in a vet and be employed with a vet for the work experience part of the course.

How is someone meant to get experience if they look for people with experience??? There's no winning.

I was thinking about finding out who's opening it but i dont know how. How do u find out who's opening a business if there's only a sign on the window saying vet clinic opening soon. There's no phone number or anything.
However, its a newly built unit - its a newly built building with several units. So can imagine the unit is being leased. Is there a way of finding out ???

    What age are you?

Is going back to college as a mature student an option?
