Passport photos - glasses?

I sent off for a new passport via passport express and for the photos I went to a €6 booth. However my application got rejected because of glare on my glasses in the photos. I don't know what else I can do if going to a dedicated booth doesn't work. Does anyone know that even though I wear glasses normally do I absolutely HAVE to wear them for the photos? Anyone else have problems with their passport photos?

I have glasses on in my passport photos but now wear contacts and i doubt anyone has ever noticed when checking it at airports. I would not have been able to get my photos taken previously though without them on due to then not being sure if i was looking in the right direction for the camera.

When I applied for a passport recently, I was advised to take my glasses off for the photo, to prevent the possibility of glare or of my eyes being obscured by the glasses. I wear my glasses all the time and they said that all that might happen is that passport control might ask you to take off you glasses if they want to compare you to your photo.

Don’t go to a Photo Booth, they are rubbish quality… Yes I am aware there is one in the passport office itself – but the quality sucks.
Suggest you go to a ‘good’ chemist that will check against the regulations – see P.O website or application form for copy of reg.’s – and actually print more than one set if there is a problem. Cost you 15 to 20 euro, but its worth it. I had to get passport photo’s of 2 small kids done recently and the hassle was incredible… but a personal visit to the passport office and they verified on the spot the photos were ok, as I was worried about the baby’s photo.
The PO are really fussy about photo’s these days.

In France people are usually recommended to remove their glasses for passport photos. If you normally wear them there is no reason why you would be fored to for a passport.
