Good choice, I wore knee length to my debs!!! Really unique and classy, I got mine made though, but I'd guess that most stores that do full length will also have knee length, try Monsoon, Coast, Karen Millen...

There are really nice ones in Coast, Warehouse and Oasis I've noticed recently - would be lovely for a debs! Good choice with the length though - means you can easily wear it again for other special occasions! :)

Debenhams always have lots of prom-type dresses in stock. well worth checking out. Would you consider getting a dress made?

Would you consider the internet? I got both of mine off there, a short Chinese one for my first debs, €33 and a long floaty dress for my second, €171. There's so much choice. American sites can suck for shipping though, though most end up originating from Asia anyway and some have flat rate shipping. Besides, the dollar is weak.

The chinese dress was too big and I had to get it taken in, but even then it cost less than my bag and it was perfect. The second one was made to measure, though I fit their standard size measurements anyway. All sites have a conversion chart and size charts- you need to know all your measurements precisely. But yeah, it's not scary. You're guaranteed to have a unique dress that's wayyy cheaper than buying/getting one made.

Well, if you want something different, why not try out Retro in George's St arcade you can get some really cool 1950s style prom dresses there, that's what my sister got for her debs. We've totally different styles, she's very abercrombie, ugg boots etc (she was mortified when I brought her there, jaysus, kids these days), and I'm pretty flexible in my style i'll go from gothy to bohemian to Avoca-esque to rainbow lady to kate moss's latest topshop stuff in the blink of eye, anyway check it out anyway, they've some amazing stuff, and if that doesn't float your boat try the Indian shop at the entrance of the arcade near Powerscourt, called shay-shee or something, they've some really gorgeous girly things in there, all silks, bows, pearls...*day dreams...

Pamela Scott and Debenhams are both good. You want to be wary that you don't get something that someone else is likely to have. That's the problem with Coast, etc.

the last thing you're going to want is a Debs dress from Coast, Karren Millan or the likes.

Retro is a great idea, they do some amazing and orignal stuff.

Occations Coture at The Designe Centre on the top floor of the Powerscourt Mall is where I got mine (well not actually for my debs, but for two others i went to, still havent decided what to do for mine yet). There is only one of two of each and they have a huge amount of differnt styles.

and they wont sell two dresses to the same debs which is handy. They some some beautiful dresses from all the earas of fashion, so your bound to find something :)

Have you considered getting one made?
