Any tips on how to connect to a hidden wireless network on the mac?

On other wireless devices I can do two things:
    • Specify the connection as a hidden network and enter in the SSID and password and the device connects.
    • I can connect to the network when it's not hidden and save the connection details. Then when I set the connection to "hidden" the device remembers the connection, sees it and connects.
What's the trick with the Mac? I'm using the last generation iMac and on Tiger 10.4.
    Any help appreciated.

Click the airport icon up by the clock.
    Select Join another network.
    Enter the details (SSID, Security)
If you want the computer to remember the network, check the box.
