Perez Hilton is reporting that Patrick Swayze is dying of cancer. It was apparently in the national enquirer. Hope this is not true. Would be so sad:(

'Dirty Dancing' and 'Ghost' star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The 55-year-old actor is currently "responding well to treatment", according to a statement released by his publicist.

The statement dismissed previous media reports which suggested that the star only had weeks to live.

Only 55, hope he pulls through.

    Swayze's Doctor Disputes Near-Death Reports
Patrick Swayze's doctor has confirmed the actor has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - but insists he's not as close to death as reports suggest. Tabloid and internet reports suggested the Ghost star was fighting for his life and had been given just five weeks to live, but his physician Dr. George Fisher suggests he's a lot more optimistic about the actor's recovery. In a statement issued to Wenn on Wednesday, Dr. Fisher says, "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic." The Dirty Dancing hunk's publicist Annett Wolf adds, "Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

    Poor Patrick its sad

I hope this doesn't end his career. :(

Maybe now he can star in a sequel to "Ghosts", but as a real ghost this time.

didnt think much of him before donnie darko, but post that I have a lot of respect for the guy. Cancer sucks like that, but he can probably afford some kick ass medical care so I'm sure he'll be stoned as a trooper until his last hours! To the man, not the actor, I really hope he wins his battle with the disease.

Actor Patrick Swayze plans to film a special episode of his forthcoming series 'The Beast' as a video-documentary for his family to watch after his death.

The episode will reportedly co-star his 50-year-old brother, Don, under the direction of Swayze's wife, Lisa Niemi, and will feature documentary-style footage of the production.

Swayze has been praised for his "workhorse" attitude on the Chicago, Illinois set - just months after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February.

He echoed his bosses' praise last month, insisting he's feeling healthy and looking forward to recovery.

And while he is confident of a return to full health, he wants to give his family something to remember him by when the time eventually comes for his demise.

Neimi has worked as a writer, producer and actress with her husband on several projects, directing and starring alongside him in 2003 film 'One Last Dance'.

Swayze is set to continue filming the show until November.

    So he is doing well?

I dont know if he is OK but I do know that you do not take any day for granted once you have had cancer...he is probably just being careful. I do hope and pray that he is OK.

What's the status of his cancer? Clearly he hasn't died but with how long it has been, has he beaten it?

<H2 class=articlestandfirst itxtvisited="1">There are fresh fears for the health of Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze after US reports claim the actor's cancer has spread to his liver. A source close to the actor reportedly made the claims to America's National Enquirer magazine, telling: 'Patrick recently got word that the cancer had spread to his liver and that is what his doctors said would begin the countdown to the end. Patrick knew it was coming because he was suffering increased weakness.' 'At times, he was so weak that he could barely walk without feeling faint. Sometimes he feels out of breath and has to sit down.' The actor, 56, has allegedly told his wife Lisa of 33 years and his brother Donny that he doesn't have long to live. 'Lisa phoned Donny in Los Angeles and told him he need to come to Chicago, where Patrick has been filming TV show The Beast. She was crying and scared Donny to death,' the insider told the publication. Swayze recently complete gruelling 12 hour filming sessions for new US TV series The Beast, in Chicago. The actor and his wife reportedly celebrated the completion of the filming at a party this week where he was spotted chatting to guest for one-and-a-quarter hours.

Actor Patrick Swayze, who has pancreatic cancer, has admitted he may survive only two years.
Speaking in his first US TV interview since he was diagnosed with the disease, the Dirty Dancing star said he was "scared" and "going through hell".
The 56-year-old refused painkillers while working on new TV drama The Beast, and missed only a day-and-a-half of the show's tough filming schedule. He also denied being on his deathbed and "saying goodbye to people"..............

Swayze is on the cover of PEOPLE this week. He seems thin but not gaunt- still smiling. The cover quote: " I am alive and plan on continuing to stay that way." Although he was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer he vows to keep on fighting. You have to admire that- my prayers are certainly with him. Stranger things have happened. My brother was told he had only three months to live- that was 36 years ago and he's still going strong. Never lose hope.

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers' hearts with "Dirty Dancing" and then broke them with "Ghost," died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

I used to watch it on the sly thinking there'd be some boobs in it but it wasn't even up to the standards of a desperate 14yr old boy :( :P

He was fabulous in Donnie Darko. Can't remember much else he did besides Ghost and I think some wishy washy Flipper kinda Disney type fluff.
