Charging mobiles in USA?

I recently read somewhere that, while you can use your tri-band mobile in the USA, it's impossible to charge them because of the difference in voltage.
I'm heading over there myself in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this.
Can you get an adapter to charge from their 110v system, or will I have to buy a cheap phone while there?
    Thanks
    Merjock

Your charger that you already have will most likely be dual voltage so you'll just need the adapter for actually fitting in the plug socket. I think a lot of US gadgetry is only supplied with single voltage chargers, but as us Europeans do a lot more traveling our chargers tend to always be dual.

I brought a UK to US converter with me as the phone charger was already a 120-240V. Just plug it into the US converter, into the wall and charge away. There should be a label on your charger that states input voltage. Practically everything these days is 120-240V

while i was in america i justed used my father in law's Nokia charger. I brought a car charger just in case he had the newer nokia socket. When i got there i bought a universal adaptor in Best buy for 12 dollars. You can bet them in radio shack and wallmart too. They are also available in the airport bookshops and gadget shops at a higher price.

    enjoy your trip!
