The headphones jack on my laptop is broken, i need it replaces. I just rang somewhere and they said it would be 50 euro for an evaluation and would not give me there price for labour. Anyone know of someone good to get the jack replaced. Its an acer laptop.

headphone jacks can very seldomly be replaced or repaired, there generally part of the motherboard itself and therefore not worth fixing as its part of the mainboard. If you however are really stuck for a replacement you could try the Audigy Z2 PCMCIA sound card which I believe has a audio in and output jack on it.

You can get headsets that works through the usb. The one I seen was a big one with a microphone on it as well but it may be something to think about.
