    What is it with women in fancy officey suits wearing runners on the way to work?! Do they carry shoes in their handbags or something?!

    they presumably leave the work shoes at work and walk in comfortable footwear.

    Yes. Have you ever walked in to work in heels? if not, I don't advise it. Heels in bag. Runners/shoes on feet. Tis the only way to do it. It's pretty common.

    Because of the glass ceiling in offices women need other sources of income so they all work in Nike sweatshops that are located in the ladies toilets. The free runners are a perk of the job. That's why you never see them wear the runners in. That's what they're up to on their lunch breaks when they sneak off without you.

    Why not just wear comfortable foot wear all day then rather than changing into something you cannot walk about in once in work, or would that be too sensible? :confused:

    How can you accidently forget to take your slippers off and put shoes on?

    Yeah, normally runners are more comfortable for travelling to work so the uncomfortable bastids go in the bag till they get there.

    Most of the guy's in my old office used to change into runners. Easier and quicker to run from O Connell street to Connolly to catch an earlier train. An added bonus is you dont wear out the good shoes as quick.

    I'm a girl and always did the same as did all the girls who commuted.

    Can't say I've ever done it myself but don't see the harm. Oh actually, I did wear runners with smart clothes for a while but I'd torn tissue in my foot so shoes weren't an option, I just wore a sock before that. Thank God it was summer
