Airsoft must be one of the best ways to meet new friends

I think the title speaks for it's self,
just sitting here thinken about it, and so of the bad reports about airsoft, i dont think there is one player out that has not made a friend or two from all walks of live, may be that why more players talk on the field than play:D

No matter where I've played; whether it's been HRTA, Predator up in Northern Ireland, or Ground-Zero in the UK, the social aspect of airsoft is very obvious to witness. I'd have to add Ground-Zero in particular given that it was a camping experience as well, so after a day's play (and any night games for those who wanted to play them), it was back to the campsite for beer, food, and a good laugh with other players from other countries and the marshal team.

It's one of the reasons I'm putting a lot of effort into getting into Airsoft. It's healthy, it's fun and I can meet new people. In spite of the impression the boards give from time to time, I've found you all to be nothing less than friendly, open and welcoming. I couldn't ask for more from a sport or hobby, as soft as it might sound.

I have to admit airsoft is the only sport i have ever got into that i have never met so many friendly people in one day and never had a bad word said against me:D

or people being as friendly as the ones i have meet at HRTA and Airsoft in general like giving lifts, sharing AEGs and the likes

Well, due to airsoft, I've found a few dozen more people that I don't want to kill. I only want to shoot them instead.

My psychologist says that's a good start.

The best part of Airsoft:

1. It's social and doesn't involve pubs and bars (it's shocking, but some of us don't drink alcohol and feel like a 5th wheel in pubs/bars)

2. You get to meet people that you wouldn't normally socialise with. And I mean that in the best way possible.

3. You can get as little or as much exercise as you like.

4. Age doesn't matter in the same way it does in other sports.

5. Gun porn. Enough said. If you read that as 'Gay porn', you are addicted to porn.

6. I can only think of one other activity that gives better stress relief. And yes I do mean what you think I mean.

7. You improve your typing skills by getting addicted to this airsoft forum.

8. You get to be part of a team with cool names...like, for example...The Ghosts. I mean, how cool is that?

9. Free military strategy training curtesy of Paul and experienced soldiers/ex-soldiers.

10. Conor cooks some really nice burgers on the bbq.

11. You get to tell all your friends that you take part in the latest extreme sports craze.

12. Your holloween costume is sorted.

13. Improved eye-hand coordination without having to spend hours planted in front of an x-box 360.

14. You get to write numbered lists on airsoft forums listing all the good things about airsoft.
