I know ther was talk of this in the AVP2 thread but thought it deserved its own thread as OMG DO WANT this game so badly. Just look at those shots!! This is rapidly turning into my most wanted game of the year with every new shot released!!

I wouldn't hold my breath regarding those renders; I'd wait till a video comes out with the gameplay before showering it with accolades.

Nice shots. AFAIK Gearbox are developing it and the writers behind BSG are responsible for the story. All in all, I would say reason to be hopeful.

Yeah its gearbox at the helm, whih is one reason to be hopeful for it. They proved they can make a great squad based shooter and provide great atmosphere with BIA, hoipefully they can do the same for this.

Not only that, but he designed them to look like just what you think they look like, for further reference check out the alien craft in Alien, the entrance is shaped like yet another orifice, deliberate too are the manner of reproduction, the violation of self, the penetration, and so on,

The game should kick ass, once they resist the desire to have us either scuttling across the ceiling as Aliens or firing spears and energy bolts as Predators, keep it pure, lets kick some xenomorph ass!

+1. If it doesn't end up turning my shoulders into solid lumps of tension and jumpiness like AvP, I don't think I'll be bothered at all.

Nope; but even at that I firmly believe they're going to only bear a passing resemblance to the finished product (a la Motorstorm etc...).

Sadly the story is that youre part of a marine detatchment sent in to investigate what happened to ripley, hudson etc, so you wont get hudson. But you can just pretend youre hudson, and shout 'OH YEAH! YOU WANT SOME TOO?? **** YOU! COME ONE YOU ****ER! ARRRGGGH' as you play. At least i know i will

Can't wait for this. I loved playing as the marines in AvP because it was so damn creepy. Lights off and the only sound is your motion detector

I really hope this has the atmosphere from the marine campaigns of AvP2 (the better game imo). The way the tension built up at the start was fantastic. I'd also love for intelligent Alien AI. Such as running up walls and on the ceiling to avoid fire, or ducking into vents and emerging behind you. I'll be totally disappointed if they're all Max Payne style (like in the recent AvP:R movie).

I don't mean to put down Max Payne, its just that I hate when the Aliens are portrayed as having no capacity to communicate or act intelligently. However according to wikipedia in the game they will be smart and will use the vents and try flank you.

The wiki article also said the game will feature the motion tracker Also no HUD, which I'm in two minds over. And quicktime events, which I am very much against.

Good lord. That's the first thing in years I've heard about a pc game that has actually excited me. Assuming they make a good job of it and the alien AI is up to scratch.

they should do it like left4dead with the a director co-ordinating the whole thing and maybe even other humans able to play as the odd boss alien. (providing the left4dead thng works that is:rolleyes: )

That Aliens Extermination Shooting Arcade Game was amazing, they have one in courtown, Its a re-make of another one that was made on alien 3. Its two player and really addictive. I cant wait for this new alien game...:rolleyes:
