Anyone have any experience of mid-90's Saabs having oil leaks at the front of the engine near the exhaust manifold?? It's not leaking onto the road but there's lots of thick black oil oozing around the front of the engine.

Asking for sister/ brother-in-law. Both students and can ill afford serious surgery.

PS, after a little googling, it seems the brake/ clutch fludi is prone to a little leakage. I have driven this car on numerous occasions and have noticed that the clutch pedal's biting point is almost on the floor.

The distributor oil seal is prone to leaking. A replacement is mad money but Gordon Kellets used to sell the oil seal seperate.

A dizzy seal is a couple of cent to buy. A bit awkward to fit, but a competent DIY mechanioc could do it easily. Use tipex to mark a line for semi accurate refitting.
