One thing to remember about the PS3 though is that the Bluray drive will be Region A if bought in the US. This isn't a big deal for some films as a lot of region locked films play in all players, but some Bluray films you buy here (Region B) won't play on a US PS3. Just something to bear in mind.

One good counterpoint on this is that any Bluray DVD you buy from Amazon.com will play on the PS3 you buy from the US, which may be a great little bonus if you're planning on buying a lot from Amazon.com, but not so good if you plan on buying locally or from EU websites.

If you're trying to decide between PS3 or Wii, PS3 all the way. Wii is a child's console.
