    Hi

Just wondering about holidays booked last minute and your accommodation is allocated on arrival. I am looking to go to lanzarote and as money is scarce was thinking of going this way but was wondering what experiences people have of holidays like this? I am not expecting 5 star treatment but would like nice clean and tidy and quite apartment.

    :)

Allocated on arrival can work out fantastic, or shocking!! Ex holiday rep - trust me :)
Basically, you can catagorise your allocation, to resort specific or star/key specific. So basically a 3* Puerto del Carmen should be fairly safe, yet a 1* Lanzarote could literally be anywhere on the island. They dont have to put you in brochured accommodation, they can put you anywhere.
If its a cheapie you are looking for, and its saving you bucks, and you dont mind where you stay then go for it!!!
If you hate it, you can always ask the rep to be moved and in resort subject to availability they can move you - usually costs you though!

I have to say the idea never sounded very appealing. You're pretty much saying you'll stay anywhere

I'd say best idea is to specify which area you want i.e puerto del carmen, matagorda etc and so you know at least which part of the island you'll be staying in...we went with falcon last year and were allocated on arrival, specified puerto del carmen, apartments were so good we've booked the same place again for april!!! As far as I know all the accomodation with falcon is a fairly good standard so you cant go too wrong..
