I'm really impressed with this software having seen it in use on the Grails site. My question is whether it is so far ahead of open source competitors that it is worth shelling out $1200 per year and $600 annually after that?

I don't really need an enterprise system for my company, however some clients may be interested in wiki/colloboration/cms software so it might be worth getting to know.

Anyone who has used confluence or has a good experience with other similar products would be great to hear opinions from

My employers use it pretty extensively. I guess whether or not it's worth it boils down to exactly what they are going to do with it - if it's not going to be used relatively often, then possibly not. If they need something that's suitable for organising large amounts of frequently updated information, then it's one option.

Thanks BuffyBot. Initially there would be a small user base but it would scale to a large number of users. Am going to run my own version for awhile and see
