Hardwareversand - how long do they take?

Hi - I ordered my build on Tuesday, and sent the money off to their IBAN account yesterday. From previous experience how long should this take?

Also - what are peoples experience with them? I read another post which said their PC was 'assembled rather than built'.

it depends... did you send the money via the expediated method? If you didn't its going to take at least 3 working days for the bank to get off their ass and transfer the money.

Also if you didn't use the expediated method, HWV might cancel your order as they expect the money to be paid within 3 days of making the purchase. I'd contact HWV to tell them the money might be delayed.

Once they recieve the money, you will get your stuff within 10 days. I've ordered from them a few times and the stuff always arrived in a week

I ordered from them last month, it only took sixteen days from when I made the order until I got the goods.
I also used an expedited Bank Transfer but it was somehow delayed for eight days, I was contacted by Hardwareversand and, after explaning the situation, they waited until the money came through and I got my order no problem.
Delivery was less than ten days once payment was made.

paid in on tuesday last via normal method got my order on thursday this week after it was dispatched on monday.... top class from this point of view.

would be interested to hear your comments on build when it arrives

Just got a mail last night
"In the context of your online order of the 2008-02-26 at 10:28 we want to inform you that the goods are sent on the 2008-02-29 at 19:27 to:"

    Happy Days!

The girl in the Bank on Thurs said it would take 3-5 days for the payment to go through. Will update when the build arrives, and put up some pics

    hey joker

i ordered practically the same build as you and got mine a few days ago. does the logitech keyboard you picked have a few german keys? mine does - ill have to get rid off it on ebay

Yeah 2 weeks is about the norm.

Beware the german keyboards, this has been mentioned before. I don't know if you can buy a keyset or not, but if you're buying a €15 KB its hardly worth it. It only bugs a few people in my house.

    Keep waiting for OLEDs...

yeah, wth is up with that Maximus KB, its been "coming soon" for the past decade.

Also, yeah all their keyboards are in german, you can switch a few of the keys around though to make it look like the Irish layout, but your symbols will still be messed up. Plus i'm usually on the PC in the dark so I can't see the keys anyway, lol.

Another great thing about HWV is their return policy. You don't even need to contact them. Just print out the form off their site, throw it in a box with the item your returning and post it off and in about a week you'll get either a replacement or money back (depending on what you asked for) I've had to do this a few times and they always replace the item asap.

yeah, but what's the cost of postage back. keyboard cost 50 snots so don't know if it's worth it.

Unfortunately I had to put it back in the post - the build just wouldn't load Vista (I tried 3 different versions from 3 different DVDs). I sent it off on Monday, it's in Heathrow today according to the track + trace on An Post.

I only sent them back the actual box, to be honest I'd like to get the thing working rather than my money back... :(

Hey what did you guys use for the recipient address? I dunno bout you, but I need one for bank transfer. I've only seen their bank's address, but no recipent address.

What error messages were you getting? Hopefully mine will load XP. Can't try it yet as the DVI monitor I bought is slow arriving.

I ordered a mobo, hdd,and dvd drive last tue(4th mar). Got the money transferred the next morning. DHL had the parts out to me a week later(11th) but hardwareservand had not included my phone number in the delivery so they could not find me. I collected them today(14th) from DHL depot.
Overall: Great service, fast, well packaged and best value I could find...Just remember to stick your phone no. in the 'comments for carrier' box when ordering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭dingdong1234567

I ordered mobo, psu, graphics, ram & processor in Jan and it took about 4 weeks to get here as they had to wait for items to come into stock etc.

That was fine as i wasn't in a rush for them. Apart from that they are great value i think. Would deal with again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,236 ✭✭✭techguy

    They're pretty decent..
I when they recieved the money I had my three packages in less than a week IIRC..

Would've been €90 more if I bought all the same stuff through komplett..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 57 ✭✭Gloopy

Getting ready to order the bulk of my stuff from them, so I'm going to tag a stupid question on here, a question that I should probably ask my bank, but how and ever...

Does your bank charge you for a bank transfer?

And does this expediated method cost more?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,201 ✭✭✭Macspower

bank charge for transfer was only 75c through AIB but the fast method was €25 for next day... they said the normal method would take 5 days but 3 days later I got a mail from hardwareversand saying that the stuff had been shipped

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 57 ✭✭Gloopy

    Thanks for that Macspower.

I finally ordered today, and went for the expediated BT. There was a problem with the info I printed out to bring to the bank though - my print out didn't have HardwareVersand's actual address on it.

I found it later after a little digging, and phoned the bank, but the teller told me they had already sent it out, despite my asking them not to. So, I fully expect a phone call tomorrow telling me there was a problem and I'll have to do it again :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 595 ✭✭✭toco123

I am not liking hardwareversand.de I was originally going to purchase from Drivecity.de but hardwareversand seemed to be getting good reception around here. I asked them to not cancel my order and i will pay in the next three days. They replied saying they would have no problem. I did so in 24 hours and waited 2 weeks... Rang the company.. They had cancelled my order and it took them ten minutes to find my payment. Now I have to wait again for delivery... Paypal would have sorted a lot of these problems out IMO.

Im not happy with them at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭DanGerMus

Well i will always defend HV to the hilt never had a problem with them. I even ordered a monitor off them and took 3 weeks to pay them cos i thought i had money i didnt and they were very good about it. they cancelled the order and the price went up in the mean time but when i emailed them they reinstated my order at the older price. they could very easily have charged me the extra 20 quid but didn't.

From what i've read around the problem is mostly (actual from what i've seen it's always) the banks fault.
Number one get AIB acc and number 2 get online banking, transfers happen at the end of the working day you make it as long as it's before 6pm. If you do it in the branch they basically have to ge up off there arse and copy the details from the form to the computer and quite often they're slow to do this. That my friends is where your 3-5 ,and sometimes more, days go to.

My advice with issues is to keep up good email contact Daily if not more. waiting for two weeks for something to happen before checking is madness. They're only human and things do get overlooked and the only defense you have against this is basically to bug the hell out of them. Paypal charge you for something you could very easily do yourself.

My original build was shipped very quickly - and I just went for the normal Bank Transfer - not the quick one.

There was a problem with the build, so I had to sent it back. They received it on the 14th March, I was away on holidays so only got back to them yesterday. The first guy said they hadn't received it, so I went back to An Post and double checked, I rang them back and the girl said that they'd already sent it back to me via UPS. She gave me a tracking number and I should have it tomorrow.

Just have to wait and see now does the build work second time around....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 57 ✭✭Gloopy

Well, no word from the bank today, which I'm hoping is a good sign - they said they'd contact me if there was a problem with the BT.

Another question if ye don't mind... When I placed my order yesterday morning, everything I wanted was in stock. But sometime yesterday evening, a couple of items went out of stock. Will I have to wait now?

Or do they reserve your parts until payment has been made? I doubt that somehow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

Not a happy campler. No, not at all.

I brought home my PC from work yesterday evening, plugged it in and switched it on, a very loud buzzing noise started coming from near where the hard drives / front fan are.

I find it hard to believe that it left the factory like this, so the only plausible explanation is that it happened in transit. It's kind of like the speaker on the motherboard is constantly on.

I'm going to ring them later and give them a bit of a b0ll0cking. I'm seriously tempted to just ship the whole thing back and look for a refund.

Out of curiosity I wanted to see if it would load Vista, and it did - at least they seemed to have fixed whatever problem was happening with the build the first time I got it.

I'd like to hang onto it because it already cost me 80 Euro to ship it back for repair (they don't pay this), and it would probably be another 100 to ship everything back for a refund - I only shipped the actual box back last time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 57 ✭✭Gloopy

That sounds dodgy alright joker, let us know how you get on.

I'm becoming increasingly agitated. For a start, their site seems to be slow as **** these past couple of days. When I eventually do get logged on, my order page is "Momentan nicht verfügbar", or currently unavailable according to Google translate. Been like that since last night.

Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing anything else like this?

EDIT: I was panicking for nothing; shipment sent as of this evening!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭DanGerMus

maybe the mobo speaker is just not connected properly. or maybe it's knackered. Seeing as it loads windows it seems that the pc is functional and i wouldn't go crazy over somethin minor. I hope you troubleshoot it yourself anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

I rang them up last night and after the 2nd time of trying got through to an English speaking support person. I explained the problem, what I thought it was, and all he suggested trying was to send it back for a full refund. They're also going to refund the cost of shipping it back the first and second times.

To be honest - I'd say I'm just unlucky with this particular build, but after it not working out-of-the-box, for me to then send it back and for it to come back in a still-not-working state, I'm going to just ship it back and take the refund.

I'm waiting for order over month..
Transfer of payment is PITA..they're cheap for sure, but far too long in processing orders.
probably won't order again, what are drivecity.de like for deliveries?

    I'm a bit thick.

How do I do an online transfer? There's too much information in the email I have - Remittee account? BLZ? Swiftcode? Intended purpose?

    SWIFTCode:

Can anyone help me with this?

I'm guessing you'll have to go to a bank branch and send a wire transfer. I'm wondering what fields the the "BLZ" and "intended purpose" values go into. Hopefully the bank will be able to advise us.

"Remittee" should be 'the beneficiary' on the transfer form. ["I]Swift/swiftcode[/I]" should be requested on the form too.

I went through this 2day, print the email & bring it to your bank. Once you set it up once you can order from them again online. Process takes a minute or 2.

You can do it online via 365.. Only prob is it will take you about three days just to register the beneficiary to your 365 a/c. It's also worth noting that hardwareversand ommitted the address of the bank.. I just googled the iban or something and took a chance..it worked. I think it's something pretty basic - Dortmund anyway..

I think I may of had to get the BLZ from the iban via google also..can't rem correctly. Oh and calling 365 helpline will do you no good.. As you may already expect..

Intended purpose - I think I just said online purchase and the order number. I don't think it matters tbh..

Ya, bank address is just Dortmund. Just bring the email, the teller will figure it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeh I'd be hoping the bank would sort it out but I thought it might be better doing it myself with online AIB. Ah well, I'll just have to try and get to the bank tomorrow. Think I might have another oul perusal over at HWV!

Just got told by a mate that he got charged 25e by his bank (AIB) for an instant transaction when he made his order 2 weeks ago. FFS

Thats why i bank with Permanent TSB :D, the teller said it'd be instant, we'll find out soon enough tho

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,236 ✭✭✭techguy

ah I only got charged €1 for transferring to www.tigerdirect.com (USA) and nothing to hardwareversand.de (Germany)...

    BOI FTW:pac:

I doubt that was the instant option though. It says €25.35 for the InterPayexpress/urgent option on the BOI "Application to Transfer Funds Abroad" form.

    Hmmm... express or non-express?

Only if you live in Germany.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,874 ✭✭✭✭PogMoThoin

Thats a bit Irish, 25e just to speed up a transaction. I'd refuse to pay it, defeats the whole purpose of shopping in Germany for cheaper prices, wasn't given the option with TSB tho.
Costs 30e to send a big shipment of computer components securely from Germany, how can they justify 25e for an electronic transaction? Ba$tards

Very Irish indeed... sure doesn't it still take 3 days to lodge a cheque because of 'reasons'!

Anyway, I completed one of BOI's (fancy new) wire transfer forms at around 15.30. Didn't pay the extra €25 for turbo transaction so have sent hardwareversand a "please don't cancel my order if you haven't received payment withing 3 days" eMail.

    / starting delivery stopwatch.... now!

You can send money in-branch to an IBAN. The BOI form I used was titled:

"InterPay - EU Regulated Payments Only"

Got my parts on Wednesday, having sent the bank transfer the previous Tuesday. Quite happy with that, although I wasn't too impressed with the packaging - the outer box had taken a battering, and the components were "loose" inside (no cardboard or polystyrene padding etc). This annoyed me given that a few of the parts were OEM versions - the soundcard came in nowt but an anti-static bag.

As I said in an earlier post, I didn't have all the relevant info with me when I sent the bt from BoI, but it didn't seem to matter a jot! No beneficiary bank address, no beneficiary address... Overall, quite happy, apart from the packaging end of things.

I'm trying to get through to them using 00491805711117.

    They say in their Email:
"if you have any questions concerning your order do not hesitate
    to contact us from Monday to Saturday (8 a. m. - 8 p. m) at the phone number 01805 / 711 117
    ".

Germany is an hour ahead of us if Windows Time Zone settings are to be believed. Is today a German bank holiday? Am I inputting the wrong international code?

I've been onto them a few times - that number is correct. It's pot luck whether you get an English speaking person....

Got my monitor yesterday evening, for some reason my shipments were shipped in 3 seperate packages and they got split up, Heaviest item, the monitor arrived first. Was on2 Dhl and the rest are coming today.

Not impressed with Dhl, they couldn't trace the monitor and didn't know where it was when i rang them yesterday, the delivery driver arrived to the door with it an hour later. For some reason the international tracking number changed when the packages arrived in Irl confusing matters even more.

Well Impressed with Hardwareversand tho, super fast service, ordered wed, paid thur and recieved the following thur, an Irish store wouldn't be near as quick. I'm gonna wait for this evening for my final verdict tho until i see how well packaged my bits n pieces are when they arrive.

I just get an error message when trying to track my order on both the Dutch and Irish DHL web sites. Neither recognizes the tracking "identcodes" provided by hardwareversand.

Why You using dutch DHL, should that not be German? Was getting that error myself, was a day later before it said that it had left the outward office of the country of origin. There doesn't appear to be any tracking inside Germany. Their tracking system appears to be a mess. It will be issued a different tracking number when it lands in Irl, just to confuse things. Not great compared to the system GLS use where You can tell exactly the location of your shipments.
