I want to submit to a college competition

    Brief is as follows:

"To me photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event and the precise organisation of forms which give that event its true expression...What is there more fugitive and transitory than the expression on a human face?" Henri Cartier Bresson

"The challenge is to enter a photograph that captures the essence of Bressons quote about the human face. The photograph can be of a person from a different culture, country, county, young or old or simply a different place as the < expression on their face will tell. Its about what you see."

    Any thoughts most welcome !

Any chance you can resize the images to 800px longest side, pretty please?

Number two for me, at first glace the pin is heading straight for his head, his expression appears to reflect this, The restriction on his arms as well as the flag give the impression of a circus firing squad.
After that has all past, you realise he is juggling, and smile

    Thanking ye muchly :)

I do like the second one, too. It's got just enough bizarre-ness to make you look twice, and it captures a moment quite well. Can't decide if I like the composition with the flag or not though, it's a bit strange.

You need to caption your picture properly.
Not sure if that's a requirement for this competition, but it makes a big difference.
I'd like to see what you're up against, but I think the 3rd one fits the theme.

The 5th one would be good, if you were asked to capture the mind. It gives a great sense of confusion.

yeah... i;m not sure about the composition either... i did try and heavy crop it, but still not sure... and the pole keeps getting in the way, and maybe the skittle is too soft or not soft enough ... mmmm !

I think the red flag does add something

#2 for me, love the expression and it does make you look twice cause your not sure if its heading towards him.

I'd leave the flag, adds something to the shot, makes it maybe look like a golf course or something :)

I think number two also. Not that the other faces aren't more interesting - I think they are - just that there is no context to their expressions. They could be grinning or looking at anything.

I'd go with #2 of your crops!
