Same as Ciano1 on MMDS in Cork. Not even the +1 channels which i personally think are very handy if you miss the start of something.

What's the deal with UKTV Gold, Bravo and some of the other channels (forget which) in Limerick? As far as I can see they're supposed to be on the basic package but when I go to them it says I'm not subscribed. Even when I choose the basic package channels on the guide thing it lists them.

We dont get any of the plus one channels in Athlone or any of the setanta club channels and NASN, yet were meant to pay the same money. And the channels breakup/skip every so often. Wouldnt recommend them to anybody in Athlone tbh.

I have the ntl select package in Dublin and I just noticed last night that UKTV Gold and Dave are now available and I'm positive they weren't available before on this package. The +1 versions are not available

Yep, I have select too and UK Gold only there receently. I rebooted the box last week and needed my activation code and only since then have I noticed it. Now to find Dave

They weren't on the select pack until this week they've added them to make the select pack look a bit more attractive.

No they aren't. UPC inherited a hodge-podge of different networks all with different channel line ups, which they're only beginning to straighten out now.

I'm sure they have to (re)negotiate carriage agreements with the different channels (many inherited from older providers they've taken over) in order to roll them out over the network as a whole, which probably complicates things too.

It's a bit of an odd thing to put DCTV on cable outside Dublin given it's Dublin Community Television... Can't see it having much of an audience in Cork for example if it goes on the line up there.

You will have to wait a while for these news channels, I would say. Fox News is owned by News International who own Sky and is, ASFAIK., exclusive to them. ALJaserra would be a more likely addition but it isn't that widely available. Surprisingly it is not on the virgin cable network in the U.K. so may also have exclusive carriage with Sky.

Al-Jazeera is FTA on FreeSat, so it is not exclusive to Sky...
