Stop error in video device

New to Windows, as I use Macs for work and XP now to play games. After booting yesterday I got this error (Stop Error in video device) – it's linked to the video card I think. A message telling me it was a serious error (does it say they all are?) popped up. It linked to a webpage to re-download the drivers from microsoft. I was going to do this when it said I had to use IE4 or whatever. So I gave up and shut down. Booted back into windows later and it's was ok – no errors.

So want I'm asking is – has anyone had a similar problem? Should I be doing something about it?
