Acoustic Solutions 32" LCD TV is €462 in Argos now. It's on page 22 of the Catalogue Price Update, March Edition (green coloured leaflet) in stores, not the main Argos catalogue.

    Specs:
    Res. 1366x768
    Brightness 500cd/m2
    Contrast 1500:1
    HDMI 2
    HD Ready
    Catalogue Number 529/3283

If you're interested you can phone (01) 216 1616 to check and reserve. You'll need the Argos store number to check availability in the store nearest you.

    Good value..

But pay the extra €40 and get this!

Including delivery the Pixmania LG TV is €76 extra, €495 plus €43 for delivery equals €538. Where as with this TV in Argos you can pick it up in store so there's no delivery charge.

If you buy this tv only to save 70 euro you'd be crazy. You wouldn't be satisfied with it in the long run. Dynamic contrast and a proper scaler is a must. The LG all the way!!!

Ok so theres the 32" Acoustic solutions LCD HD in argos for €450, the 32" Beko LCD HD available in Powercity for €400 and the 32" Bush LCD HD available in Tesco for €450 (I can get it for €400)

    Which do you recommend?

The Mirai 32" (in xtravision for €450 afaik) would be my preferred option.

+1. The other 3 i'd be very reluctant about the brands.

Make sure you do a search on the bargain alert requests section aswell tho, its a topic that comes up there alot.

I have 2 Mirai's in the house - one 19" and one 32". Both excellent TVs IMHO.

I was in argos in cork city today and i noticed this tv on display priced at 411.99e or somethin very similar.Out of interest, i keyed the number into their stockchecker machines and it came up as 464e.So...if anyone in crk fancys a bit of complaing over false advertising, they might be able to get this tv for 412e

Cheaping out on TV will only disappoint you, especially that Mirai. I seen it up beside some of the proper brand name TVs and it looked really shít, steer clear.

Acoustic Solutions....I would not touch this TV with a barge pole. Get a couple/ few hundred euro extra together and buy off a manufacturer with a proven track record in this area. My order of excellence in LCD technology is as follows:

    1. Panasonic
    2. Sony
    3. Samsung
    4. Toshiba

Very little between 2- 4. Panasonic make the best LCD's by far, but you will pay for them. Toshiba make some excellent budget models.

I think that Lg and samsung are the market leaders. Philips, Toshiba and sony are now rebrands of other manufactures. Open to correction

Have had both a LG last years model up against this years samsung 32 inch and displaying a HQ signal there is little difference. Would like to see both again with a poor old analogue signal to see which tuner is better.

But I would avoid the spurious brands myself
