Hey, I've noticed that with my laptop the sound quality through my headphones is pretty poor, with weird crackling noises and stuff even when no sound at all is playing.. I don't suppose there's anything that i could do? It's not the headphones (no problem with my mp3 player) but i presume it's just a crappy port or soundcard or something.... (It's a Dell Vostro 1500)

    Anything I could do?

Its a known problem with the vostro series. Have it myself, one can hear the inside of your laptop just beeping and whirring away. The only solution ive seen so far is

not sure where you would pick one up though.
