Just would like to know if any one has a star g36 c-mag, and what they think of it and how much would you expect to pay for one. Thanks!

They're all more or less the same. I've used several types. The one I still have is a Hero Arms one. To be honest I've found little difference between the brands. With the exception of the activition method, the mech on them seems to be the same.
    There are 3 typesL
Pressure fed (autowinds as you fire)
Audio fed (autowinds as you fire based on noise of piston, slightly less reliable)
Switch fed (autowinds when you hit the switch/pad)

It's personal choice between the types. Pressure fed seems the most popular because there's no thinking involved at all, you'll get a constant feed. They are more expensive though. I have a switch fed one and have no issues with it. They don't rattle too much due to the pressure plate on them but they're bulky and can be awkward to get your forearm around sometimes to aim.

    I had a hero arms C mag and I have a star C mag.

I have issues with both and trying to get a constant feed from them. Thats probably a issue with the motor or batteries or both. I noticed paddy off the ghosts got a much better sound out of his C mag motor then I did out of mine.

As Dex said, the internals are largely identical but I find the pressure feed is more natural the button feed. Also with the button feed you can have issues with removing the mag.

Build quality varied quiet a bit between the two. The Hero arms was just ****e in a box. I can not stress how crap the build quality is.
    • Plastic is weak
    • Screws holding it together are below par (threaded them very quickly)
    • Connections and fixing are below par (first thing to break was the pono jack for the button.
Theres no reason for any of the above given the price you're paying. The star C mag on the other hand.
    • Plastic is strong with a cold finish. Its quality stuff
    • No complains about how its put together
    • No external connections so nothing to go wrong.
    • From memory the internals look to be a higher quality but thats a subjective view point.
They're both around the same price. If you can get the star, get it. Hero arms are pure filth.
