OK, so redfan wants opinions on the properties he has linked to above as possible investments.

    Any takers?

20mins from airport...and at under 100k... thinking of taking a step to the bank manager . all depends on the rental market on it..

canaries looks great job . garrage too..

have no idea on these as an investment, id need to know more about the area, demographics, corporation tax rates, owner occupier proportions etc. etc. etc. it having a granite worktop or otherwise would be of no interest to me. but then i probably wouldn't buy any property in the world at the moment so im the wrong one to respond.

You've got to look at the bigger picture redfan.
Spanish property prices are going down the toilet, their banks are more exposed than the Irish ones to property. The Spanish economy is in trouble.

Take portomar's advice "about the area, demographics, corporation tax rates, owner occupier proportions etc. etc. etc." and then look at the country as a whole.

You should be in a good place to make a decision then.

Oh, and I've been to Fuerteventura on holiday and doubt I'd ever return. It has so little going for it. It's windswept so you think it's not too hot, but is closer to Africa than the other islands and you can be burned to a crisp. There was one nice restaurant there though....

India is the latest hot spot.

It seems to change every few years. Remember the Bulgaria stuff a while back, not much talk now.

I've been to Fuerteventura, verually a desert with a couple villages in amongst it. Saying that there was a lot of construction going on at the time. Lots of older types, families and couples - thats the market, retiree types.

    Hi Redfan,

I was in Fuerteventura over Christmas. Not the nicest island to move to IMHO.

If there was anywhere there I would move to its Corralejo on the northern part of the island - but to be honest I wouldn't move there at all...

I'd rather move to the states - Florida region but it's a matter of personal opinion...

point me to the irish man who made a REAL profit from Bulgaria.

The only people who did are the companies flogging the bloody things.

the only irish people who have made a profit in eastern europe are those who got in long before we had stands promoting the same places at exhibitions

were talking the begining of this decade
