Which GBB to Buy?

Comments

I have the M9 above with silver barrel. Was brilliant till it fell out of my holster a couple times[Avoid "universal" holsters at all costs, literally]. Not so brilliant any more and the seals have gone in the mags but that'll happen with any GBB over time.

ksc/kwa make an m9 in metal with a more authentic trigger unit, ie the safety de-cocks it, it would be slightly better than the kjw, which I have, but I miss the correct function of the safety the ksc has.

I think its available on ehobby. Edit: Nope, but it exists, and is worth finding if realism matters.

Aparently the desert eagles are difficult to use at a scirmish due to their bulk, but I'm not really into them anyway.

Which do ye think would be more powerful?

DE has more kick but the M9 is way more efficient on gas.

Never mind them yokes, get a Mac !!

Of the two, the M9 is clearly the practical option. You'll find it easier to use and easier to master. You'll also have a lot easier time getting accessories for it.

    M1911.

    Next question.

    15 versus 25 rounds.

The m9 works out cheaper for mags and I'm a 1911 fan, but this guy should get the m9 and a spare.

Some 1911's come with a spare mag but after that, it would be cheaper to get the m9 and a few mags than the 1911 and 5 or so.

M9 is cool too, die hard anybody?

    Die Hard?

LAPD??? 24? Jack Bauer? Thats how its done.

Or CSS, a pair of them, in silver:D

    M9 mate!
(Or if ya want my personal opinion scrap both ideas and get a KJ P226)

Dont ask me why but I think you will get more satisfaction
with the M9 which is full metal, backs a nice kick as well as noise
and is less complicated than a DE and will also use less gas.

I have the M9 and its my 2nd favorite GBB.
Ideally out of all my GBB's the KJW P226 is my all time favorite
it looks and feels so much like the real thing and the mags are actually
way better feeling/looking that the real thing its self.

Jack Bauer switched to a P226. Because he appreciates the finer things in life. He also uses the Casio Waveceptor watch which I have been coveting for sometime.

I dislike the 1911, I find it very plain and boring. It is however very functional and reliable so you should consider it as an option.

I love the exposed barrel, just too cool.

I know as a pistol its basic enough, but its all metal not polymer, and thats the clincher for me over glocks and usp's.

That and they look like lego while the m9 looks like a classic sports car with those curves.

id reccommened the the M9 over the deagle just on the size of the deagle to lug around as a sidearm, the M9 is a great gun, though parts are a bit of a nightmare to find if you ever need them, the M1911 is a nice one too and the bell version that eirsoft are selling has really hice blowback, i cant really remember what the WE vesion is like but id imagine its pretty similar to it.,

The WE one is very good, great blowback, but the finish can chip and the slide lock needs a tiny bit of filing to get to work consistently, but its all worth it IMO.

Yeah, and he shot Kurtis with a P99. He uses a whole range of Pistols. Think he used a 226/228/229(cant tell the difference:p) at some stage. Now read Dexs post. Should actually read these threads rather than skimming.

Yes he does on his days off when he's on his yacht. Well he calls it his yacht. The Swedish Navy call it the CB-90S that went missing. He also sports a man-bag on occasion. Now if you want to argue your case to him, go right ahead!

On that note, I'd second Bullets' thoughts of considering a P226/9. They're nifty little sidearms with just as many options as M9s available

Most of the time he used the USP C, the others a P229, don't ever remember seeing him with an M9, probably did at some stage.

Anyway I recommend the KJW P226/9 or KSC metal slide USP. I haven't gotten around to geting an M9 yet.

He most certainly does. As do I :D:p

KSC does a supremely good version, currently available on eHobby for peanuts with all the trades and a finish that good you'd be hard-pressed to tell it's not metal, even when you touch it! It's very green-gas friendly too.

OK looks like the M9 so, Eirsoft have no Sig 226 left.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

oh thats another thing about ehobby, sometime they show trades on there guns and when they arrive they dont have them on it,.

    I believe that's a KWC issue, no?

(Had the issue with one their KWC GBB, shown with trades on auction page, but none when it got here :( )

Or could be a KWA/KSC issue (same company, and KWA is reportedly the no-trades lower-end, even though mechnically they're the same...)

They make pistols for the japanese and world markets, dunno which has trades, but they are the same quality, no matter what price difference there is.

no, mine was a we hicapa ambro,., im not really that bothered anyway though, :) they make up for it in decent prices and rocketship postage.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,994 ✭✭✭ambro25

A WE you say? odd... not heard that one with them before

    (Motosam - I know, that's why I clarified that they're the same mechanically ;))

@ OP, I'd still wait for the SIG, even if Tony's out of them: I've only ever heard good things about them in here :)

EDIT There ya go, scanlant just put one up FS in the Adverts section. How timely is that? :)

Other thing about the SIG is that when you take of the slide the inner workings
look like they are of a more modern design and as if they may function better.

Cant say anything bout the sig but the m9 seems quite good.

Just you have to be carefull with the mag lips on kjw's, they can break if the follower is allowed snap upwards.

I suppose its a preference thing if you want a sig or an m9.

Considering the topic of pistols.. Which is the better buy?
    • KJ Sig P226
    • KSC USP Compact / or Full size (ABS)
    • KJ USP (with metal slide)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

one bad thing about the P226 is the fact that it just doesnt work as a left handed pistol, unlike the M9 and stuff.,

I have the full size KSC .45 version it's awesome, I absolutely love it, thinking about getting a compact as well :D

If your going for a USP get a KSC one, they are better than the KJ version.
You can get metal slide versions of both the USP full size and compact on ehobby or uncompany. The latter will even fit night sights to your GBB if you want.

I'd be hard pressed to choose between the KJ 226 and the KCS USP with metal slide. They are both quality GBBs, while the 226 is a little heavier I find it fits in the hand better. You can't go wrong with either really.

The USP Compact is not as powerful as the full size and may be a problem in the winter months with 134a.

KJW P226 is a wonderful side arm
great weight and feel to it plus the mag has a high capacity though vtec is dead right if you're left handed its not the easiest pistol in the world to use
