I'm still on probabtion in my job. i'm being harrased by my boss, getting 70% more work than colleagues, getting giving out for not doing things nobody else is expected to do and absolutely got the head ate off me for been 5 mins late 1 day last week. I've been told that they want to fire me and are just waiting for any excuse. Do I have a leg to stand on?

Hmm, do they have a reason to fire you? Are you not performing well? I'm sure they wouldn't harass you with know reason (I hope anyway). The thing is if you're on probation they don't need a reason to fire you, they can just tell you it's not working out. It's after people complete their probation and become permanent employees it's hard to get rid of them.

Are you sure they want to fire you? How do you know this?

Who told you they want to fire you? Unfortunately you dont really have much hope of staying after probation if they really want you out. They can come up with a few examples (being late will do) to justify it if need be.

Did your manager hire you? It doesnt make much sense that a mgr would try to get rid of someone who works for him unless you are really not pulling your weight or there are some politics going on that you are not aware of.

Either way I'd start looking around for something else if I were you. Why work for someone who clearly doesnt want you there? Going to work every day is hassle enough without having to deal with that.

Nope, you have no leg to stand on. First of all can they simply choose to not take you on after the end of your probation, secondly you can only go for constructive dismissal after one year of employment in the company (excluding sex, religion etc.).
