    Hi Everyone,

time to move it on after 6 years of happy motoring. It is in navy Blue / cream 1/2 leatherette, with 145k on the clock. Stacks of history up to about 120k when i got it and taken care of by my local guy since.

I would say this is a project car although a bit of bodywork and it would still looks the business. The bodywork is okay, on the rear passenger side arch a piece has fallen / rusted away around an old repair. Bubbles appearing on the driver's side rear arch. Front arches are good, bonnet has surface rust at the front edge in places. Boot lid has laquer peeling.

Mechanically it has always run well for me. It does need new brake pads at the moment though but other than that should drive away no problem. It has the usual W123 'loose', steering but this never bothered me. The interior fan is noisy like something is stuck in there. It sat for about a month in my local garage a year ago and had the noise when it came back so i think something just got stuck in there while it was sitting idle. I think these are prone to leaves etc due to the large intake vents inside the engine bay, not sure, something similar happened a friend who had the saloon version.

One of the rear electric windows never worked so i disconnected the back two. The front 2 are fine ,the sunroof sticks halfway sometimes but some WD40 every year always sorts is out.

The interior is good apart from the driver's seat which has the usual seat wear and the RHS bolster has fallen in a bit. The rear seat is almost perfect apart from a single cigarette burn.

One of the mercedes guys here, 8-), had a look and i think he found some rust underneath although don't think it was a big concern. He was concerned about some fumes coming out from under the bonnet. Its only really noticeable in wet weather as otherwise you can't really see the fumes. I had the same thing when i first got it due to a crack in the manifold but this was replaced. I also had a similar problem when a piece (flexible piece of some sort?) which connects the engine to the exhaust (not manifold) system developed a hole which i believe was welded but can't remember now.

Its never been a problem for me but i'm sure you would want to have it sorted.

I'm trying to remember now what else, 8-) if you can add anything please do. Oh yes, the chrome strip on the driver's door is bent thanks to some vandals who tried (in vain) to break in, they also stole my bonnet star. There is a parking dent in the rear bumper but i bought one used along with another chrome strip but never put them on.

Its on English plates at the moment and is in Dublin.

    Any offers considered !

    Osh

Hope someone takes this off your hands and gives it the TLC it needs!
I assume it needs to be VRT'd and NCT'd?

    Love the paint/interior colour combo.

It does need to be VRT'd etc but take your time restoring it and in 4 years its all good !

I have some nice alloys to suit it if you want to spruce it up a bit, genuine Merc ones and BBS ones.

    G'day,
    Still have it Oshbosh!

To anyone interested, it isn't pristine but the asking price reflects that. It is a project and will need some welding in the area of the front wheel well. Someone less concerned about proper repairs could 'fix' it with some filler! It's had bodywork in the past which has been good enough to pass MOTs so it's a fair indication it's not a rustbucket.
The fumes mentioned is probably just some oil burning off and the smell of fuel is probably perished fuel lines. Easily fixed but would want it fixed before driving a great distance.

The main reason I didn't take it is because a reality check shows that I already have several projects, including a Merc coupe. Better to spend the time and cash on one coupe rather than try to spread resources across two cars...

    thanks Sean !!

only looking for a couple of hundred for this ?

Just out of interest, does anyone know if you can dontate your car to charity in Ireland ?

In the states you can do this and then you get a tax credit or you deduct it from your tax, something like that...
