    Hi,

Can anyone tell me the attendance at the Senior Football final in 2007?
I've searched the web a fair bit and can't find it. Can find the hurling no problem, it was 82,127.

My son needs this for school.

    Thanks.

    Name them :D

Seriously I have been at a lot of Finals but never saw so many people to leave early. I was with a large group up to support the Galway Minors and I was the last to leave. The rest went to the pub - I was the designated driver

Wow Me too, im surprised i didn't see you :D Mighty Game wasn't it. Makes me smile just thinking about Donaghy's face as he saw the open goal in front of him for the first....and second goals. Poor Cork lads thought they had a chance.

So there was Sgthighway, DDC1990, myself and 82,123 other people. Sgthighway, there is no point in me naming them, as I bet they've all got names already. :p

You said you've been at many finals. Me too: Every football final since 1980 and every hurling final since 1980, except Thurles 1984. So that is 27 Hurling finals and including the replays, 31 Football Finals. Of course that is just the seniors, so if you add in minors, U21s, Camogie, Women's Football, club Finals etc., I've been at a few myself. :) How do I get tickets? - With great difficulty!!! :) Then there are the semi-finals, quarter-finals, provincial finals and on back down the line, and of course league games and other competitions. I'll be making my first visit to Croke Park this year on St. Patrick's Day, and I don't intend to miss many match days there after that - and that is just Croke Park, let alone other venues. I intend to be in Breffni Park on Saturday night for example of other venues I get to. Wherever I am on a match day, my trusty Walkman is with me keeping me up to date on what is going on in other venues. You may have noticed by now, I love Gaelic Games. :D So if you are at the final this year, or in Croke Park on any other day, just look around and you are almost guaranteed to see me. :)

Thanks Flukey, great to see you're enjoying the sport. I never agree with leaving early, even if you're team in being badly beaten and believe me I've been there!

It is annoying people screaming for weeks beforehand about getting tickets, and they leave before it is even over. I always stay to the end. There may be something special to see, even if it makes no difference to the result. Of course on many occasions people have left a game and missed something crucial to the result. Many people had already left to celebrate Limerick's All-Ireland Hurling Final win in 1994, and missed the 5 minutes that left Offaly as the winners. There are many other examples. Get there before it starts and don't leave until it is over - in terms of the final whistle being blown. That's what I always do.
