can we make posting the results of tournaments part of the charter for advertising, we get bombarded with posts leading up to a tournament but very few organisers subsequently post the results, Its only a small courtesy but can we make it a prerequisite that if you advertise you also have the manners to post the results

I don't think there is much need to be honest. A lot of tournies that are posted very few play in them from here and results would be meaningless. Also, I don't particularly fancy having to make sure. It would be a good thing to do in general, but enforcing it would be quite troublesome. I will add into the tournie rules thread that it would be a nice touch to post them afterwards.

Lots of employers will now google potential interviewee's , before offering and interview etc, its not going to look great to the majority if a string of poker tournament results come up. One reason why people would not want their names plastered up.

I don't think posting results will make much of a difference in this regard.Try googling(!?!) a few names of players you know, they'll appear on reg lists hendonmob database, and funnily enough some crazy german/french etc results sites.
It's a common courtesy to players who take part in these events to let them know the outcome, and i have never heard of a player requesting anonimity in a live tournie.
Kudos to Neil and Connie for at least posting feedback threads in the past.

I know several people on the live circuit I couldnt so much as give a chip update for (and often called them by nicknames etc to get around it). Many would avoid cameras too (weirder, since you cant google for your face in an image!).

I used to think that Tom Murphy was a boring name but now its great... go try googling it and see how far that gets any future employer :p

On a slightly unrelated note, my Boss in an old job sometimes checked out peoples Bebo, Facebook pages when considering applications. He told me of one guy who wasnt called up for interview (despite being well qualified) because his main picture on his bebo page was one of him face down on a street in Temple Barstreet with a pool of vomit beside him. Class.

I know we don't always have all the choices we'd like to have but you should at least be aiming to get yourself as far away as possible from working for people who do that kind of shyte. And if you have to go through your career pretending to be something your not ...
Anyway, Love the link in you sig glad to see that some of you generation have a found some taste
