I'm also considering it, never played the first one though so I don't know what to expect. What's the cheapest anyone's seen it for?

Havn't played this one yet myself.

I've read that its a RTS except you take control of units yourself from time to time.

It's not like an RTS at all. I've only played the first game but it's like a 3rd person action game where you control a load of different squads ordering them around but can jump in and control any unit you want.

Played the original on the GC, this is more of the same, apart from the chunky soldiers and vehicles there is little here in common with the GBA and DS series.
Plays a lot like a 3d Cannon Fodder, but with more complex controls,
it hasn't exactly set the reviewers alight with bliss by all accounts, but if one is looking for some military kicks on the Wii, this may be your only port of call aside from COD2/3 and MOH V/H2.

Actually, if you do believe "War is so much fun" then Medal of Honour Heroes 2 may well be a far better bet.

Can't speak for Battalion Wars 2, but I played the first one. I liked it alot, but be warned it is very kiddish. I didn't mind that, its got a sort of endearing quality for me. No idea how BW would translate to the Wii though, check out some reviews on Gamespot yet?

Got the game at the weekend, the units are very well done, the graphics are good, controlling the units can get a bit annoying but still find it enjoyable to play, very short single player, played for bou 3 hours and already 50% through the game which i think is a bit crazy, online multiplayer is supposed to be brilliant havent played it yet, maybe suited more to younger people

Gave it a good lash last night and I had a go of the game too, ha ha ha...

Anyway, it's better than the GC version, still rather simple, the weapon lock takes an awful lot of the fun out of it, although you have to use it, pity.
The voice over before each mission seems unskippable, very annoying.
The gameplay is fun, and there are few things like it on the Wii, and at least it's readily available in Irish shops, unlike it's GC predecessor.
Perhaps when I get to grips with some more vehicles it'll grow on me, but not sure if I can be bothered to invest that much time to be honest.
