The part of my glasses that connects the two lenses together is breaking at one of the joints (I can't think of a better way to explain this, sorry). It is very bad and is only hanging on by a thread. These are my only pair of glasses (my other ones are broken) and I need them as I'm bind without them. Is there any way I could fix them my self or at least limit the damage until I can get other pair fixed? I know, it's a long shot.

Are they metal frames? If so you could try soldering them. I can't guarantee it wont damage anything though.

Do you have a solder iron? I've never used one on a pair of glasses myself, but it may be an option. Alternatively you could mould a piece of metal which would cover the complete top of the glasses to keep it together (from ear handle bolt to ear handle bolt) if you're mega creative!

Cheers for that lads but I don't have a soldering iron and I wouldn't know where I would get one.

Would an iron (the one for clothes not a soldering iron) be hot enough? I doubt it would.

You'd get a soldering iron in Maplin in town. You'd also need solder as well as it has a low enough melting point to be melted by the soldering iron.

I'm not in Dublin, I'm in Sligo.

And they've broken. Looks like it's time to get the selotape out.

    All simulations end in disaster

I'd say the good old fashioned sellotape, until you get it fixed.
Warning: You will look like a nob.

    Bring them to the Opticians

I think it may be hard to solder these back together. They break happened at the rim so there is a small chunk taken out from the rim. I'll still see if it can be done though. Cheers.

Yeah I'm gonna bring them into the opticians tomorrow and see if they can fix them. I should have lenses for my other glasses by Thursday at the latest so it's not too bad.
