I don't have Sky Movies and I can't find the Oscars listed anywhere else.

I know RTE and Sky One are showing highlights tomorrow but I'm just wondering is there anywhere that will be streaming them live?

    Doubt there is though.

If you have sopcast or tvu, it'll probably be streamed. it definitely was last year

http://www.rojadirecta.com/ has a few streams. I am watching some spanish channel. It will probably be English language for the actual show. Will find out in 13 minutes.

I have and it still tells me I am restricted. I have an Irish ISP.

    EDIT - Pesky time machine

It's restricted to Irish ISPs. If you're in Ireland give it another go now.

norbit was nominated for an oscar (for makeup) ha, it won all the rassies though...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 829 ✭✭✭standbyme

The picture seems to be stalling a bit, esp. during Steve Carrell+Anne Hathaway,

Is it stalling much with channelsurfing.net?

BTW: They must have changed the order this year, as normally the first award went to The Best Supp. Actress didnt it?

No picture problems for me. That I noticed anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 829 ✭✭✭standbyme

Ah maybe it comes in phases, ok now. Is there a list of order for the oscars handed out online somewhere?

    No prob with the feed.

Jon Stewart doing a good job so fat - nice gag re Cate Blanchett's range of roles

    Amy Adams's song was woeful

Javier Bardem wins - Quelle surprise

Nice dig re the amount of time.

Surprised Golden Compass beat Transformers for Best Visual Effects - a snub in the direction of Mickael Bay by D'academy perchance?

Some might enjoy http://blogs.oscar.com/ - a blog from back stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,011 ✭✭✭Wisesmurf

Philip Seymore Hoffman deserved supporting actor imo altho Javier Bardom was v.good too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

How the hell did August Rush get a song nominated?
Any reviews I saw of it were shockingly dire

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

RE Bardem getting picked - probably most people reckoned PSH's so good he will be nominated numerous other times in the future - also Charlie Wilson's War might have been a bit right-wing for D'Academy

Yeah so was i, but they also got the Golden Globe as well, maybe the SAG as well?

    G'wan Saoirse!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

who the bird telling us 'this is the first nomination for blaa blaa' and tripping over the names, tilda swinton is wierd

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

How fupping nuts is Tilda Swinton - man twould be fun if more people from her planet came to visit planet Earth. Class speech.

RE - The Golden Compass - thought the film might be punished for flooping box office wise - thought the effects were better than Transformers and much better than POTC but the technical categories are always tricky to nail

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

that song was from august rush, it was so twee, im black and my daddy walked out on us, but but if you try really hard...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭Antigone05

pity she didnt win. she did great getting nominated. will do wonders for her career...or lead to drugs..

EDIt : did you noticed the august rush song, the 11 year old singing about being a mother! awful stuff. predictable gospel stuff

Yeah I noticed the announcer lady messing up myself.

Shame about Saoirse. If Day-Lewis wins will it be regarded as an Irish or British success I wonder?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

No harm about Saorise really - best part at her age would be to be nominated - seems like her career is in decent shape i.e she's shooting The Lovely Bones w Peter Jackson at the mo

cohen brothers first - best adapted screenplay

What did the Cohen say about Cormac McCarthy in their acceptence speech. Given a lot of the final script was a copy-and-paste job from the book he should have been up there with them

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 829 ✭✭✭standbyme

Hard luck Saoirse, but if she did i heard she would have been the youngest, but what ages were Tatum o Neal & Anna Paquin when they won?
At least she won the IFTA?!

Cant say i saw Michael Clayton & yer wan that just won she's not really easy on the eye?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

    is michael clayton any good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭Antigone05

and best actress goes to - marion coltiage (how do you spell her name?)

shes freakin hot. not many americans winning this year! a tone of french, no more freedom fries!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Cotillard I think. Yeah she's gorgeous. Did it look to anyone else like Cate Blanchett thought she had won? I thought she jumped up and then realised she hadn't won. Unless she was really over-acting her excitement for Cotillard!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭Antigone05
