    (Mean Time To Failure)

I have just started doing some exercise at home - running and light weights.
This is my first serious exercise in 30 years (I'm 31), though I'm not a fat guy at all.

How long should I expect the feeling of wheezing blood out of my lungs like an asthmatic ebola-riddled gopher to last?

Out of breath after exercise definitely - but "wheezing blood out of your lung" is not good. Go to the doctor.
