Problems with Smarttelecom broadband?

    I'm wondering if anyone else with Smart is having problems accessing certain sites.

    For the past tow or three days i've not been able to get on to some sites, e.g Gaydar.co.uk, telegraph.co.uk and others. Up to a few days ago everything was fine.

    I've made no change to my PC setup here so I'm wondering if there's some sort of problem with Samrttelecom ?

    Working fine here on Smart.
    Have you done a tracert to see where the problem is?

    I have and although I'm no expert on Traceroute it doesn't look to me as though it's a problem with smart, anyone got any thoughts ?

    The only site that seems to be an issue is www.telegraph.co.uk as it times out after the clnt.slb1.deg.dub.stisp.net but I have no issues getting to the site

    The other 2 are timing out after the request leaves the Smart network but I've no issue reaching them.

    I'm not sure why you say telegraph is the only problem when the other two are timing out also, though as I say I'm no expert on this.

    That aside I cant reach any of them and I could list probably half a dozen more that I cant get to - mad annoying !

    Ah well, I guess there's not much I can do about it. I guess just hold tight and live with limited surfing till whatever the problem is gets solved.

    Did you trying turning off your router for 30 seconds and then back on again.

    I don't think its a generalised Smart Telecom issue as everyone else on Smart isn't reporting any issues. You could try posting on Smart's forum - http://support.smarttelecom.ie/forums/ - to see if the admins there can help.

    I registered with the support forum but guess what? I can't activate my account as I can't get into my email. Like you I noticed that nobody with smart is reporting problems.

    I didn't reboot the router but will do so and see what if anything happens.

    Do you know what I'm an idiot !

    Just rebooted the router and hey presto all working. Cheers for stating the obvious, so flipping obvious I didin't think of it.
