I have downloaded the free version of real player 10 to listen to bbc radio shows on my new mac pro. However it won't play properly, generally starting well and then dropping sound. It isn't my internet connection as I can listen to the same shows on a PC.
Has anyone any suggestions - thanks
(I'm not particularly technical in case it's not obvious)

Surprised you can get them on your pc. I've never been able to listen to anything cause I'm out side GB.

theres a widget for BBC Radio http://www.phantomgorilla.com/. works a treat !
Realplayer 11 is better as it has a built-in FLV downloader for youtube videos http://uk.real.com/player/mac/

You can listen to the live streams of their radio stations from outside GB, it's just their on demand stuff that they put controls over.

I downloaded both of those that greglo 23 suggested (thanks btw, and the widget looks great alright).. but the problem persists. I'm wondering is it possible I've chosen the wrong bandwidth or something, but I don't have much expertise in this

hit F12 which will bring up the widgets. click on the little i in the bottom right hand corner of the widget. select which channel you want to listen to and click done. click on the arrow and off you go!

I've downloaded it, but it won't work. Also downloaded real player 11 and while it seems to work it still won't play bbc properly :-(

I experience this problem frequently as well - but with RTE's website.
Streaming audio with RealPlayer on the Mac is poor quality - frequent drop-outs and breakdowns. But the same link works perfectly in Windows RealPlayer.

I had nothing but problems with RealPlayer 11 and the BBC radio widget so I had to downgrade to Real 10. Works okay now but not great, occasionally cuts out. RealPlayer is a piece of s**t. And the BBC widget could do with an update. Listening via the BBC site is a little more reliable though.
