Want to provide Private Lessons service

    Greetings,

I am currently employed, however I am thinking about giving private computing lessons during the weekend.

I am wondering how should I go about this. My main concerns are:

    - I am currently under the PAYE tax scheme. Would having a second job interfere with my main activity. Would I be considered employed or self employed?

    - Generally, how would I go about to be able to provide this sort of "freelance" service? How should I approach Revenue to get things setup asap?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated. :)

    Regards.

You should register with the revenue as part time self employed, keep proper books of account and file a tax return once a year.

It wont affect your PAYE side of things.

Get yourself registered sooner rather than later as you may purchase software/hardware which is deductible,

Feel free to ask if you've more questions.
