Which official body in Ireland should I contact when it would come to registering a completely new brand?

What fees would I have to pay for doing this?

It depends on what you mean by brand - your solicitor can register a trademark at the Irish Patents office, of your can register your domain name at one of the many companies providing such services.

I'm going to use a brand to copyright my product design work (plans, specifications, etc). I also want to use a brand on my posters.

Do you mean a logo ?

A brand is used as a marketing term these days, as opposed to the cattle mark type literal brand.

You can trade mark your logo in Ireland, easy to do and cheap
