Fitness tests

    So it's mentioned that Girv and BOD are undergoing fitness tests today, I'm just curious as to what these fitness tests involve? What do pre match tests involve anyway?

    I would imagine some of what is involved depends on the type of injury. i.e. if it's a hand injury then presumably handling tests would be involved, ankle injury would involve stability tests and ability to bear weight effectively etc.

    although i have absolutely no idea on this (!) i would hazard a guess that it doesn't really involve tests as such - more of an inspection by a doctor/physio. bending and poking things and asking does this hurt/feel tight etc

    depends on the injury,

    hamstring - shuttle runs - sprints etc. compared against normal times. Flexibility tests etc.

    Shoulder: passing ball of both sides at pace, hitting tackle bags from the deck, lifting in line out (if forward), rang of movement and physio test afterwards.

    Was in Croker last year when BO'D did his ahead of the French game, must say he was going through a fairly intensive session.
