No Film4 or Film4+1 on Sky UK Freesat

    Hello, I've had a look through this forum but didn't come across my problem. I replaced my Lidl FTA receiver with a Sky box and sucessfully activated a UK Freesat card. I now have Channel 4, Sky3, 5US etc. BUT I have lost Film4 and Film4+1! I can get them on my Lidl box, they are listed on 315/316 on my sky box but says "no signal". I tried adding them in other channels but again no signal.
    Any ideas?

    I should say, as well, I went up to the dish with a Satfinder to check the direction, but couldn't improve it. I don't have a SKY dish and lnb, amusing the Lidl one, but then neither does a friend who has a sky box and can get Film4 and Film4+1.

    I am unsure about the freesat not having film4, have you checked the movies section? Also can be added using the other channels but some more knowledgeable lads here will tell you the story.
    Regarding the dish, once its pointing at 28E, then its just a dish, doesn't have to be black, oblonged and rusty to get sky!

    What make sky box is it???How long has it been inactive, you may need to do a firmware update to get all channel listings. Can you get film4 without the card in???? Try it out by unplugging the box for 2 mins and replug in the box without the card and try channel 315...

    I tried resetting it by unplugging it, waiting 2 minutes and replugging it with no card; Film4 was still there on 315 but no signal.
    The box is an Amstrad Model 550.012, version 4F0801, OS Version 1.2S4FH, epg 3.5.3. It was powered off for a couple of months, then I was using it for a week with an expired Irish subscription card 'til I got the UK card which has been in use for 4 days.
    I'm beginning to think that the receiver in this box is not as good as my (Lidl) Comag SL55. The signal Quality on the Amstrad is about 28% (if you can believe the graphic) while the Comag has a an SQ of 68%.
    I'll have to think of a way to try and improve the SQ on the Amstrad.
    I doubt if it could be faulty in such a selective way as to not receive Film4.

    It's not the dish that is broken, another eeceiver can get it just fine. It can only be the box imo.

    Try updating its system software, Amstrad boxes are rubbish imo..

    unplug the box remove your card, located at either the top or front of the box will be a backup button.

    Hold and keep pressed until a message appears on screen telling you it is updating its system software...can take a couple of minutes. When its done it will reset the box...
