Hey, I know this has been posted before but I want to get loads of Polaroid film before its all gone so I'm just wondering where you can buy it, preferably in Dublin? I know Argos used to have it but I'm not sure if they do. Anyone know??

Argos USED to have it the cheapest , just checked the site now and it doesn't look as though they stock it anymore. Boots in jervis street had it the last time I was in there getting some as a quick present for someone. You're better off buying online though. I get mine from unsaleable.com. I don't know the keeping properties of Polaroid film though, I presume it'd be okay for a while in the fridge.

They also have some in Boots in Liffey Valley, so checkk every Boots you can find!

I can't imagine nobody will make Polaroid film once the company themselves stop.

    Seems like an obvious market.

Well, Fuji make a range of similar instant films that for the most part are interchangeable with the polaroid products. Trouble is, they don't make a 600 film equivalent, and judging from replies to questions posed to them over the last week or so, have no plan to do so. OTOH the instant film business was still making Polaroid plenty of cash , and its hard to imagine Fuji just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, so its entirely likely that someone will license the technology to continue doing it. AFAIK there's a factory in the netherlands already that isn't actually owned by Polaroid, but which they contract out to do SX-70 blend film, which is just 600 speed film with an ND filter over it, so there's hope yet.

If all else fails I'll just get on with my plans to transform my SX-70 into a MF roll film SLR :-)

i cant believe ppl still getting sx 70s, its hard as it is to get plaroid film.

AFAIK i got some last year in that shop beside jack and jones, across central bank.

15 euro each, 10 shots in each i think. i got 2 packs, still have one left cause my polaroids flash was faulty, damn ebay.

I really hope someone will take over making Polaroid, because here we have so many cameras, Image/Spectra as well as SX70s -
We also own Instax cameras in this house, and the 500 AF is particularly good, having several flash options, focus lock, the usual light/dark controls, and autofocus. I would have liked manual as well, but you can't have everything (it seems). All the Instax cameras take terrific pictures (depending on the photographer of course) and it's easy to get the film, which is much cheaper than Polaroid too.
Ilford are apparently looking at taking over the making of some Polaroid films, and hopes are quite high that Fuji might consider making 600. Fingers crossed! What I would like is the security of knowing that someone is going to produce this film and continue to do so for some time, so we can buy it over the counter and not have to depend on Ebay.
The Irish retailers, however, may well try to take us to the cleaners - it's 26.99 Euros for a 10 pck of FP100C pack film in Dublin, and £7.99 for the same 10 pack in the UK. The Irish cut their own throats....

The Camera Cabin in Swords appears to have some Polaroid film in stock. Knowing nothing about the system I don't know if it's what you'd be looking for.
