Hi, i have just started planning our wedding have booked a venue, photographer,videographer,and of course the church. I,m not sure where to start on the paperwork side if anyone has just got married and could fill me in it would be great.
I'll be honest; my wife did most (all) of the organisation, but I think you first have to register your intent to marry with the registry office. More info here.
If you are getting married in a Catholic church, you will need confirmation and baptism certs (with certain exceptions for mixed-religion ceremonies). You will also need a letter of freedom from each parish you have lived in since you were 17. I think these can't be issued any earlier than 6 months before the wedding. If you arrange to meet the Priest, he will bring you through all of this.0 -
