Connecting flights - how many hours should I give myself?

I've booked my cheap return flights from London to HK, now all I have to do is book my return flights from Dub to LDN. So, how many hours should I allow myself between flights?

This is what I've been looking at

DUB - LDN, BRITISH AIRWAYS DEP:12.40 ARR: 1400
LDN - HK, OASIS HONG KONG DEP:20.40

    HK - LDN, OASIS DEP:00.50 ARR:06.40
LDN - DUB, BA DEP: Either 10.35 or 17.00

My problem is I dont know how long to give myself on the return leg. I'd be worried that the HK-LDN flight is delayed and that if I booked the 10.35 I would miss it, but then its a 4 hour window. Other option is 17.00 but that means I'm hanging around an airport for 10 hours! So, what do you reckon I should do?

And before anybody asked I'm going with BA for the quality of the journey and 20kg check in allowance. using either Ryanair or Aer Lingus and paying for all the extras makes a negligible difference!

Check with BA and ask if you miss the 10.35 flight, is there any cost involved in getting the 17.00 one?
Happened to me coming home from london and they just put me on next flight, free of charge.

I'd imagine you will make it for the early flight - if the Oasis flight is on-time arriving into Gatwick.

I hope so! I've just booked it. Sure I figure if I am late the one way flight wont be much more than €100 and thats if I have to pay! Ill take the risk over another 6.5 hours stuck in an airport!
