    Hi all,
This is my first time posting normally i just watch:). Ok... where to start,
I have the ipod nano 4gb the first model, it has been a loyal servant for 2 years now but one evening as i was updating i got a message saying my ipod was corrupt and suggested restoring it, so i did but i continued to get same message. I thought it might have been an itunes problem as i had just updated it so i uninstalled and reinstalled but with the same result. I restored in disk mode and i thought it was fixed but when i took it out of disk mode again i got the corrupt message, so i tried it one more time and my laptop crashed and every time i plug it in my laptop will crash. I think that is it, i'm pretty sure its dead but if some one knows how to fix i would be greatful. Or even any new ideas.

Ok, my ipod would have been connected to itunes very often so before i got this message it was up to date. Also whenever i connect to my pc it will crash so i don't have the chance update anything.

My trusty iPod Mini of nearly three years has also died on me recently. I've just about overcome my devastation but now I need a new player. Is there anything with at least 16gigs of memory out there compatible with macs that isn't actually an ipod? I'd say 99% of my files are in MP3 format
