Munich is great; I've never been to Budapest but I've heard great things. BUT, Munich is GREAT!

hey, i love both but think my preference would be Munich - go to Easons on Saturday and have a quick look at the city summary pages for both & see what you think. If you're a guy, think you'd definitely prefer Munich as great nightlife, beer - the Hofbrauhaus! Can go to the stadium aswell for a day & general sense of taking it easy and hanging around. Only think is Munich is small enough and quite traditional so if you're going over Easter, things will probably be closed (e.g. during high season in July, almost NOTHING is open on a Sunday). Oh and hostels are great in Munich aswell & can mix really easily with people. All good!
