    Hello!

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop? I know it costs a pretty penny, but I really want it's performance capability and also the 17" screen.

I'll be using it for mostly design purposes, so I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with this laptop, and if so, how's the screen??

    Thanks.

I have this same LCD spec 17" WUXGA UltraSharpTM Display
(1920 X 1200 resolution) as the model you linked to has and I love it! Proper full HD on your laptop screen, granted reading text etc at 1920x1200 can be a bit of a strain but you get used to it.
You need to give us a link to the system you spec'd up s its just a general review page that the link you provided gives.

Very nice, it's expensive though. Did you upgrade to the 4GBs of ram? If so how much did it cost?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 188 ✭✭onechewy

Hi, Yeah, €1369 starting off, then if I up the processor from a T7500 2.2GHz to T7700 2.4GHz that takes the price up €110. Adding 2GB RAM brings it up another €110.

With the two of them, that brings up the price to €1584, and including VAT and delivery it's €1975.

I haven't actually ordered the thing yet, and I must have added on something in the warranty section the last time I did the quote. Not really sure if i need to go for another warranty plan other than the three year.

Majiktripp is your screen nice and bright? Tried using it outside?

Screen is lovely and bright, glossy finish on it which doesn't bother me too much (ie.its slightly reflective of your surrondings like a mirror) Haven't tried it outside I'm afraid so I dont know what it would be like there but I've had the sun shining in through the window directly onto the screen and it wasn't too bad.

I may be wrong, but if you purchase this through the www.dell.ie/epp there seems to be a 10% discount applied to all systems above 1600 euro. I certainly got it off some vostros earlier this week.
