Nope, I believe it's been revealed that it's a cardboard cutout of one of the stars. Ted Danson was it?

    From IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094137/trivia

"When Jack's mother comes to visit Mary, you can see in the background what appears to be a little boy standing in a doorway. There is a rumor that this is the ghost of a little boy who died in the apartment in which the film was shot. This rumour is false, as the interiors were all shot on a sound stage in a movie studio. The "ghost" is actually a cardboard cut-out of Jack wearing a tuxedo. This prop appears later in the film, when Mary's mother comes to collect her."

Yeah, it was a cutout. Nice urban legend though.

We were talking about the afterlife, what happens and then we started talking about ghosts, and he mentioned this ghost in this film, and none of us had known about it,so he brought it into the next class and showed us.

Wasn't this rumour started about another film "The Owen" or something as well ? I wish I could find this now but there was an article a good ways back about tragic happenings to people after making certain horror films (as in a lot of them died in accicents afterwards......... It was a freaky thing to read.

I thought it was a cutout of Sylvester Stallone from the movie Cobra? I could of sworn it was.

Edit: Just looked it up on youtube. God knows why I thought it was Stallone, but in fairness, I haven't seen it in many many years.

Well I hope you'll let your teacher know that it was all a load of old codswallop, and that they should probably stick to teaching the curriculum.
