We have booked a week in a villa in Albufeira for the start of June. Simple question really to anyone who has been, is it expensive there? By expensive I mean, is it as bad as here, or is it as cheap as, say, Turkey?

All depends on where you eat and go out. Most people head for the strip which is your tourist street basically and tourist prices but there is a big difference in some of the restaurants for basically the same things because some of them have a perceived better image.

In the old part of town again there are wide variances in the quality and prices but a good range to suit most people. Not as cheap as Turkey but my experience there is to stay away from the tourist traps and go to the local restaurants - about 30-40% of the price and most of the time better food
