Not sure what they are, but I do know that Boots do insoles.

Says here that that ointment was discontinued in the UK in 2001. Why might that be?

The OP is asking about insoles, not the topical treatment.

Additionally there are different forms of Fucidin. We do not know which kind the OP is being treated with.

I had something similar last year. I had a bacterial infection that was nawing away at the sole of my feet, very pleasant :) The doctor prescribed some ointment which did the trick (might be the one suggested to you by your chiropodist).

My doctor also advised me to only buy shoes with a natural lining to them i.e. leather or similar and to air my feet as much as possible. (your chiropodist has probably already said that to you)

As far as the insoles go, why not give your chiropodist a ring and ask them where you can get the insoles they recommended?

Following my doctors advise I haven't had a problem since :)

Why don't you ask your Chemist.
If they don't have them in stock, maybe they can
    order them for you.

With the plethora of foot / footy bacterial nastiness related problems I have suffered over the past number of years I should really be a better resource for you on this. I would suggest that while I have not come across these particular insoles, that they are there as an odour / sweat control. Fucidin should still be available, I know I got it a few months ago. If its similar to my problem it may well periodically re-occur. To maintain once you have dropped the bacterial problem, tea tree oil is good to bathe in and also I would recommend not wearing shoes wherever possible.

U will need ointment for bacterial infection, the sweaty feet are another issue.
My son had a sweaty feet problem but was cured by an old army trick, wash feet and rub in some methelated spirits at least once a day for a couple of weeks.

+1 to that. I heard of that one before, and it works.

I think the chiropodist meant Zederna insoles. These inserts are made from antibacterial cedarwood and probably the best medical (but still natural = no chemicals inside) insoles on the market. I got the same tip several months ago when I was confrontated with the same problem. My family doctor told me that. So after a few days the cedarsoles reduced my foot problems very effective. I wear them in nearly all my shoes. Maybe you give them a try. Just do a googlesearch. I hope it helps you.
