hi - do you know if it's possible to list in pounds sterling instead of euros. I'm an ebay.ie member.

I have seen sellers list in both sterling and euro. No idea if it can be done by everyone tho. The seller (no, lets be honest, ticket tout) I saw do this was a power seller

When it shows up in pounds and euros it means the buyer is registered in one country but will ship to the other, so buyers from both countries see the price in a relevant currency. If you specify you'll ship to the UK, your listings will show up in ebay.co.uk searches with a sterling price.

hi - I have done listed as posting to uk. just would prefer to list in sterling as there is a definite mental thing about a euro being close enough to a pound so as will be selling to uk most likely anyways would hope to get more cash by having it in sterling - I have seen this with something that I sold. exact same thing sold for equiv number in sterling as I got for euro!

I find UK buyers are a little reluctant to buy from Irish sellers.
Not sure why - perhaps international shipping risk.
I found when listing items in Ireland they didn't sell for as much as if I listed them in UK.
Now I've changed my address to Belfast UK, so UK buyers are not so reluctant, and I get more for my item.
Remember 60 Million people in UK vs 4 million in Ireland.

You can go onto ebay.co.uk and click the sell button, should be fine. I have sold on both sites with no problems. Items listed on either will show up on both sites. Not sure about getting more cash :) the currency is converted so both £ and € prices are clearly shown on the auction.

I used to sell on the UK site in Stirling as it was the first site I registered on and when I moved here 4 years ago Ebay wasn't so big here and there was hardly anything for sale on the Irish site, it just seemed easier to list on the UK site still.

I sold (still sell) aquarium plants amongst other things and I definitely sold far more to UK ebayers when I listed in Stirling even though it stated the items were located in Ireland. Maybe its psychological and UK buyers are reluctant to buy in another currency thinking it will be complicated. Works both ways, lots of UK sellers state they only sell within the UK but if you ask they will happily post to Ireland.

I have now changed my registration to the Irish site properly and sell in Euros as I find a lot more Irish buyers are using Ebay now so it made sense.
