As there was so many ppl ringing me as to when will be the next night game
I might run a game before the clocks change for the summer time,
the game will be more of a tactic game than a shooting game, i have being talking to dex and gatling, the game if it go's a head will for two hours and two teams, and as i said it will be a tactical game, i will get dex or gatling to put up a poll as to see what night to run the game, i am looking at running it the 3th week in march, but we will see how the poll go's,
and lads and girls, i'am not good at spelling or typeing, so if i am slow to get back to you on this, you now know why.
    paul.

Would love to play, dates shouldn't matter as long as its a sat. Limit on Numbers?

Also, if you need it I'd be happy to help running it as the contractors and Hawks have definitely done they're share.

    Lethal.

Woohoo sounds like fun. I'd like to pass on the most important lesson learned from the last night op:

Communications, communications, communications! Every player should have a radio with boom/throat mic. Every squad should practice team comms before the event.

Check THREE times that everyone on the team knows which frequency they should be using. Test all frequencies at the same time to make sure there's no interference.

Make sure your team has challenge/response words and make sure everyone on the team knows them and uses them. Blue on blue incidents happen a lot more when you can barely see 15 feet in front of you.

Also a little suggestion for game rules: make it a requirement that every player carries a torch. When players are hit they have to point their torch straight up and turn it on, that way there'll be no confusion as to who is hit and who isn't.

Request an addition to the poll stating
    "Either Day"

Because I'm sure that I'm no the only one who can do both.

I'll draw up a standard transmission/response sheet for the most common commands you will hear or should give. I'll get this printed out and it will be placed with your maps to alleviate confusion.
I might make it so that each team has a pre-set frequency rather than choosing their own

Agreed, we started doing this early into the last night game ourselves. Again I may assign challenges to each team. That way everyone isn't using Thunder/Flash.

Excellent idea. For safety everyone should have a torch or headlamp anyway so this is easily workable.

    Hi all
Found the thread eventually. Meeting with Gattling during the week. Said would help out with the scenarios for the game. So just for the moment here are some items that might be required for the scenarios in mind. First thing is to get the numbers in and what time is best for everyone. The scenarios can only be constructed based on the numbers. Numbers relate to the types of tasks that can be conducted. Let us know if your team given its size etc has some speciality or what you model yourselves on. Anyone into WWI theme, now is the time to know that there will be no trench warfare re-enactment, you will only make shight of the place.
To give a heads up, first, each team is going to need two radios for the purpose of establishing communications with the Command centre running the game. If not then give a mobile number to the commcen. Remember "No comms, no war." Second you need you own internal comms for your team. Teams may be required to split and therefore you need to be able to communicate unless you have someone really fit to act as a runner for the night. Now is the time to check if your radios work.
A compass that works in the dark might be an idea and also a map case, torches. Maybe, even a compass per person or per two people. Why? Well you might find out that evening. Those that dont want to bring a compass remember to brush up your astral navigation skills.A map will be issued to all teams.
    Cheers
    John

    Hi all
Confirmed with Paul today on the dates for Night Game. Myself and Gatling are running a game. The game is broken into two stages. The first stage takes place on Saturday 15th at 13:00 at HRTA. We will run a small game during the day which will allow teams to take part in a similar scenario to what will be run during the night game.
The Night Game will take place on the 5th April. Time to be confirmed.
    Details are as follows:

    Teams
3 Teams. Blue Team, Red Team and Pilot Team

Red and Blue team composing of 15-25 people.
    Pilot team composing 5 people.

Red and Blue team must be able to provide a Sniper capability, 2 Small Recce teams and be able to complete a collective team task.

    Individual Requirements

Each team player must have the following:
    Must have
    Full Face Protection FFP
    Boonie Hat and Wooly hat
    Gloves
    Change of Clothes
Rain jacket or poncho and method of carrying
    Torch, tied to you
    Whistle, tied to you
    Could have
    Helmet
    Compass
    Small first aid kit

This kit will be checked during the game. Points will be lost for not having "must have" equipment.
Each team player will be paired with another (Buddy Buddy). During the game if you are found without your buddy, you and your buddy will be disqualified.

    Team Requirements
    Must have
    2 No Radios
    Mobile Phone
    Team Captain
    2 sub leaders

    Could have
    Internal Communications

Each team will be given maps and instructions.

It is necessary to attend the game on the 15th in order for teams to be finalised and also to be briefed on safety issues.
Safety is paramount to this game and everyones cooperation is expected.

Those who wish to take part can contact either myself or Gatling or turn up on the 15thMarch at HRTA for 13:00.

The Hawks as a team are no longer doing this.
However individual team members may still join in.

    Could have
    Helmet
    Compass
    Small first aid kit

I have a fairly large First Aid kit I could bring along. I am a qualified Intermediate First Aider and would be willing to act as medic for the game.

can team leaders pm me if your team is planning to take part

Full face protection means either a neoprene mask covering ears and face with goggles or a full face mask.
The safety distance is difficult to observe at night.
