i cancelled last week by sending an email to customer.support@upc.ie....u need to give 30 days notice so i'll have it for another 3 weeks. i got an email today confirming this. no mention of a date for collecting the box or anything so don't know about that

i also sent a copy of the email by post to the po box address on the bill

There's a €100 cancellation fee if you break the contract within twelve months - and they do enforce this!

You need to give a month's notice, in writing. Email won't suffice as they need your signature. If you email, your email will be passed on to the Cancellations department, who will then ring you several days later and explain that you need to give a month's notice in writing...

The letter should be addressed to

    Retentions Department
    Chorus/ntl
    Limerick Enterprise Development Park
    Roxboro Road
    Limerick

The letter must include the following:

The code "CNX" in the top right hand corner (this is essential)
    Your Chorus/ntl account number
    The account holder's signature

The thirty days notice is served from the date Chorus/ntl receive your letter.

    Hope this helps!

I will be with them a year next month so if I send the letter to say I wish to disconnect now the months notice would take me to march right which would be by last payment and the 12 months up. will someone correct me if I am wrong thanks.
