WRT54G Wireless stopped working

    Hi All,

I have a WRT54G v2 which has been working very well until last week when it mysteriously stopped connecting me to the Internet (both wifi and direct connection). The kind of thing you always love...

The WRT54G is properly giving my Ubuntu laptop an IP (wifi or direct), and the (Perlico) modem is correctly leasing an IP address to the router:

Login Type: Automatic Configuration - DHCP
    IP Address: 192.168.1.33
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

I can ping the router (on 192.168.1.150), I can ping the address it is assigned (192.168.1.33), but I can't ping 192.168.1.1, neither from my laptop nor from the router -- though the bit that's killing me is that both the modem and the router seem to laugh at me and their LEDs are flashing like they're doing something.

At this stage, I am about to throw the Linksys box through the window as I really have no idea what could be going wrong, and buy a new wireless router that'll replace that ZyXEL/Linksys combo. Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this, before I resort to voodoo?
